- The operation is performed under a general anaesthetic, or local anaesthetic with sedation often as a day case.
- The procedure can take between 1-2 hours.
- A very small incision is made to remove extract the fat and this is closed with a stitch or dissolvable suture.
- What to expect from liposuction?
- You can start to see results after surgery once the swelling subsides.
- Full results are not seen until around 6 weeks after surgery Any scarring is minimal as the incisions are tiny and will fade over time. Recovery from liposuction (fat removal)
- You will be required to wear a support garment for up to 6 weeks post-operatively.
- There is often some bruising and swelling to the areas treated, however this should subside after 1-2 weeks.
